Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman and deputy director for international affairs at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) told local Iranian media on Wednesday that the attack by the American-Zionist enemy on Iran’s nuclear facilities is a war crime.
He said that, “Attacking facilities under [IAEA] Safeguards [Agreement] is completely contrary to international principles, and this is against international law, even in the case of heavy water it is definitely a war crime.”
He emphasized that ”Facilities that are under safeguards supervision and are attacked are definitely considered a war crime.”
Kamalvandi stated, “We have conducted a legal documentation. We will follow up on some individuals both in our domestic law and at the level of international law.”
The AEOI spokesman also said that “We presented our own views as the AEOI, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidential Legal Affairs Office are also conducting the necessary follow-ups.”
He clarified that, "The enemy cannot destroy Iran's nuclear knowledge with these attacks."
